Mary Byrne Eigel

Mary brings her gifts as artist and educator to the community at Rockhaven. She taught
high school, college and adult-education levels for many years.  Recently retired from teaching, Mary published, Silent Courage -
a memoir, which chronicles her journey with chronic pain.  Mary leads writing workshops assisting others to “mine” the stories their souls want to tell.  Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Mary now lives in Washington, Missouri.

Gale Thackrey

Having a deep connection with Mother Earth, Gale’s life work is hinged on cultural evolution. She engages in sacred perceptiveness, healing through presence, and community activism. She brings to the Board her corporate paralegal expertise and soul—healing experience. Active in her community, Gale now volunteers as a practitioner in Healing Touch for Animals at Helping Strays, the Humane Society of Monroe County, IL.

Belden Lane

Originally from Orlando, Florida, Belden is a Protestant faculty of St. Louis University, where he teaches in the areas of American religion and spirituality, interrelating various faith traditions. The relationship of Christian spirituality to the wonder and beauty of the natural world has always been close to Belden's heart.  He serves as a Wisdom Elder with Illuman, an organization of men transforming men growing out of Richard Rohr’s work.  More

Jane shares her enthusiasm for the 'Great Work' with Rockhaven.  As a lover of creation, she passionately teaches the 'New Story;' as someone who seeks a more livable world, she works with the Citizens' Climate Lobby. 
With a Masters in Pastoral Studies (Loyola University-New Orleans), Jane combines her spirituality with her science teacher background to engender a new way of being on Planet Earth.

Janet, a member of the Congregation of St. Joseph-Carondolet, is a long-time educator.  She represents her congregation as member of the Inter-Community Ecological Council of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious-Region X.  She brings to Rockhaven her passion for Earth ministry and commitment to the "dear neighbor."

Patricia Lane

Member
Patricia explores the deep relationship with the spiritual aspect of being human through her work as a spiritual director.  As a retired teacher, she continues to impart to people the importance of the sacred stories in their everyday lives.  Patricia is a member of the New Awakenings, an interdenominational group of spiritual seekers that hosts progressive theological workshops and retreats in the St. Louis area.

Jan Stocking, RSM
Jan is the Admin Director of Rockhaven Ecozoic Center.  Her personal journey brought her to Rockhaven in 2000 to join its sabbatical program. Here she discovered her desire to work among circles of women, foster eco-feminism, and work towards multi-culturalism. She has gone through immersion experiences in Argentina and the Philippines. Jan embodies the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas' committed action towards  Care for Earth as she companions people at Rockhaven.

Diza Velasco
Diza is Rockhaven's Program Director. Gifted in ritual, art and play, she lends her spirit to the Center.
Diza is a teacher and spiritual companion committed to bringing about the sacred feminine dimension of the Divine and in expanding one's spirituality in the context of the Ecozoic Era. She seeks to incorporate the inherent indigenous spirit and new cosmology as she walks with the sojourners at Rockhaven.  She has completed master's level coursework in Culture and Spirituality in Oakland, California.

Kara Bender, a systems thinker, organizer, circle keeper, and anti-racism facilitator is energized by cultivating intentional communities and creative conversations as a way to grow our prophetic imaginations. Kara is animated by the practice of apprenticing with and learning from the stories of Earth and people.

Corlita Bonnarens is artist, spiritual director, and a teacher who has been conducting eco-spirituality retreats, workshops, and gatherings for over 20 years. Corlita is a member of the Religious Sisters of Mercy.

Maco Cassetta is a psychotherapist and spiritual mentor who uses a relational model approach to healing within an eco-holistic framework. Her clinical interests include PTSD, grief work, and re-connection to one's spiritual experience. Maco is a member of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame.

Marta Carlson  is an organizational psychologist, life coach, certified Hellinger Family System Constellation practitioner, and founder of the Chicago Suburban Institute of Noetic Sciences.  She incorporates traditional western theories and eastern philosophies in her work to resolve personal issues.

Paul Coutinho is a recognized international Ignatian scholar and speaker who blends Eastern spirituality and psychology. He leads regular workshops and retreats that respond to the heart’s relentless quest for the Divine and a desire to live the fullness of life.

Victoria Day offers eclectic, wholistic, body-based counseling  and facilitation. Her mission in life is to support others in exploring their personal challenges and possibilities through dynamic connectivity of mind, body and spirit. More

Carolyn Griffeth is the founder of Earth Keeper Wisdom School. She serves as a spiritual companion; leads women’s groups,  self-designed ceremonies, anti-oppression work, and ecstatic grief rituals; and is a tender of emergent spiritual communities.

Carol Haake leads workshops and study groups on aging and spirituality, Celtic celebrations, and shamanism. She studied shamanism with Carl Greer, Karen Duncan, and Pat Tuholski. Carol has a doctorate in education from University of Missouri-St. Louis. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, writing, movies, plays, and food.

 Linda Hoff enjoys working with her hands and being creative. It is in her nature to nurture and guide others towards greater health and wellness. As a SoulCollage® facilitator, Linda has been creating cards and sharing their wisdom for 5 years. Linda owns the Holistic Wellness Spa in St. Charles, Missouri. More

Meghan Keeler is a Columbia local with a background in wilderness awareness, natural systems, and permaculture design. Also, Megan connects the deep roots of psyche and the natural world through myth and archetype work. In her free time Meghan hangs out with five chickens, a garden, a bicycle, a great dog and three rather indifferent cats.

Belden Lane is a Presbyterian professor of Theological Studies, American Religion, and History of Spirituality at Saint Louis University. He is the author of The Solace of Fierce Landscapes: Exploring Desert and Mountain Spirituality and Ravished by Beauty: The Surprising Legacy of Reformed Spirituality.

Maurice Lange did much of his growing up on ranches near San Antonio, Texas.  These early experiences of nature inspired him to pursue degrees in environmental studies and theology. Maurice leads/facilitates retreats and workshops on earth spirituality.

Yogini Nithyananda is an international leader in Transcendental Meditation and travels with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Brazil, Peru and Bolivia. Trained in several ashrams in India, South America, Europe, and the US, Yogini is the director of Temple of Knowledge-the first Ayurvedic center in St. Louis.

Marge O'Gorman is a Franciscan Sister of Mary ministering as a spiritual director, pastoral minister in adult faith formation, and workshop presenter.  She seeks God, in scripture, prayer, liturgy, dream work, creation, and those in the margins of society.

Lizzie Salsich offers classes and workshops in the St. Louis area and at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA.  She has a degree in Religious Studies from Truman State University.  She is committed to claiming the yoga classroom as a sacred space of healing, connection, rest, and renewal.

Sarah Thornton wants to help people slow down and reconnect with their bodies and gain more self-awareness and self-acceptance. She is a registered yoga teacher and a licensed clinical social worker. She has been practicing yoga for for 20 years and has been teaching for over 2 years.  More
